Weekend

This weekend was pretty chill. Friday night I met some buddies out for happy hour at Jaleo in Chinatown. I must say, the crowd was disappointing in that it was an older clientele and not very much fun. I left the restaurant around 8pm and took the Metro home. On the way I called Bear and invited her over for some Thai food. The rest of the night was pretty quiet.

Saturday night I went out with a group of friends to Brasserie Beck for dinner. I showed up first and had a beer at the bar until the others arrived. The bar at Brasserie Beck is Cougar central. There were dozens of middle-aged women showing off their new tits and stretched faces, I felt like I was in LA. I don't mind hooking up with Cougars, it's fun once in a while, but it's not really my thing, I don't go out looking for them. Actually, I feel sleazy talking to them.

Dinner was great, as always. If you haven't been to BB you should check it out. It is my go-to spot when I have clients in town because the food and service are always impeccable.

After dinner one couple had to go home so another couple and I went to a Jazz concert on U Street. Actually, I was told it was a Brazilian band, so I assumed they would be playing Brazilian music, but it was pretty awful Jazz. There were four guys on stage, and I swear they were each playing a different "song", it was just noise. They were so bad that I am confident I could have gone on stage and taken any of their spots and no one would have known the difference. I joked that the real band's bus broke down so the owner of the club must have grabbed four guys out of the kitchen and told them to go up there and do their best. We left after one drink. We bounced around U Street for a while. We had a drink and played Deer Hunter at Solly's, then went to Cafe St-Ex for a drink. My friends were pretty tired, and left after one beer. I was talking to a girl for a while, and stayed for a little longer, but I was exhausted and bailed around 1am.

I haven't heard from Dee since we talked on the phone last week, which I don't think is a great sign. I am trying not to write to her, I want her to make the first move. I am also testing the theory that ignoring her a bit will make her more interested. We'll see how long I can hold out. I will be home for a few days next week and would like to see her, so I am hoping she writes soon.
